The main function of wood columnar activated carbon in the automotive fuel evaporation control system (EVAP) is to adsorb and store fuel vapor to prevent it from being discharged into the atmosphere.
At the same time, it is released back to the combustion chamber for combustion at the appropriate time, improving fuel economy and reducing environmental pollution.
Wood Activated Carbon Functions
- Adsorption stage: When the vehicle is turned off or idling, fuel vapor enters the carbon canister and the wood activated carbon adsorbs gasoline vapor.
- Regeneration stage: When the vehicle is running, the ECU (engine control unit) will control the valve to open, and air will flow through the carbon canister, bringing the adsorbed gasoline vapor into the intake manifold.
